Fifteen Year 5 children were involved in an exciting workshop entitled ‘Stop Racism in Football’ at Fratton Park on Thursday 5th February. Children were invited along to the workshop where they explored a range of issues and considered scenarios when people may experience inequality. They were fortunate enough to meet and talk to players (and former players) from Portsmouth Football Club and ask them about their experiences of racism in their sport. The children who attended were fantastic representatives of the school throughout the afternoon but especially when they were given the chance to ask the panel of players questions about their experiences. They listened well to questions asked by others and their own questions were thoughtful and carefully considered.
